Tintype of Gina DeGideo by Fernando Villavicencio

Gina DeGideo is an Arizona artist who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Arizona State University. Through photography, intermedia, and bookmaking, she explores the human experience, questions the universe, and is always working in collaboration with the greater unknown. As an Arizona native, growing up in the desert and constantly studying the ever-changing terrain, she is fascinated with the transitions and transformations found in the landscape, both man-made and natural, and personal relationships with nature. Her art has been exhibited nationally and belongs in many private collections.

Aside from her personal artwork, DeGideo is dedicated to supporting youth and adults in her local community and internationally access arts education. She co-founded the organization Art for Life, bringing arts programming to in-need youth in poverty stricken areas abroad. With a passion for the importance of sharing art in a physical setting, DeGideo worked as Gallery Manager at the contemporary arts space Art Intersection in Gilbert, Arizona from 2012 - 2018, curating dozens of exhibitions and teaching a range of art workshops during her tenure. She was a collective member and President of Eye Lounge Contemporary Arts in Phoenix, Arizona from 2018 - 2021. As a teaching artist and independent curator, she has worked with Scottsdale Public Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Arts, and Cattletrack Arts, among others.
